Jamie: This song is my baby.

And look maybe you're sensing a pattern after certain solo works written by certain producers belonging to the vocal synth music circle Flavor Foley but can you blame me. They don't make hardware like they used to okay I love. Computers. I love a good piece of hardware and you just don't get computers you can dismantle and fuck around with anymore they're all black boxes sealed with glue that shatter when you look at them. or PHONES. there is NOTHING appealing to me about a smartphone in terms of Hardware. fucking. okay. i just think a lot about the original iMac. Rice: They don’t even make computers fuckable anymore
Vane: They don’t even make computers fuckable anymore
Jamie: This song is about lesbian sex.
My original demo for this song had ANRI singing, because she's usually my go-to placeholder vocal, but after nabbing Adachi Rei and testing her out, there was no other choice. In this age of effortlessly realistic vocal synths that spawn countless "THIS IS A VOCALOID?!" comments, it quite frankly rules to have a voicebank go so brazenly in the other direction and sound like a sentient Speak & Spell - in the most loving and acclaimatory way possible, she sounds like dogshit and I love it!
Also. Well. Yknow. Computer. Bondi Blue iMac G3 233 MHz PowerPC Processor Mac OS 9.2.2
Vane: If this song is Jamie’s baby, then I’m this song’s really weird wine aunt who never married and uses her childless life to fund an extravagant and lavish lifestyle. I loved working on this song, incorporating my noise/glitch sound design into the way Jamie produces lead to something really unique, and I’m so happy we were able to achieve the vision we had.
I think this song genuinely helped me through alot of strife I was going through; Stuff like, “Will I ever really feel like a person? What does it even mean to be human?” I feel like writing this song helped me identify these feelings and better understand them. I love you Adachi Rei you’re cheaper than therapy
One thing I wanted to point out is that rawdog and queen of venus actually both feature similarly composed/structured synth solos. Even though the vibes are completely different, I wanted them to share something since they’re both themed around intimacy.
Rice: I would say I am this song’s teenage babysitter who only sees it for like 4 hours once a month when its parents go on vacation but the song is such a well behaved and special little thing that I constantly gush about it to my friends over lunch and always wish I’ll get asked to babysit again.
This song is crazy. I really love Adachi Rei, so I’m really happy we all decided to use her for this song. Honestly from my POV it just kind of seems like Jamie and Vane manifested this song out of thin air and dropped a banger into my lap all of a sudden one day.
I am the only member of FLAVOR FOLEY with a STEM degree, so now I can finally say I used the knowledge accrued in my Networks and Cloud Computing 201 class while contributing to the lyrics. God, I was so bad at that class. Not to sound like a humblebrag but it was the only class where I had no idea what was going on. What is the OSI model? What is FCAPS? Can even a flawed body be made pure through intimacy? All of these will be on the final exam
