Jamie: very quickly after releasing BUTCHER VANITY, we came up with this two album release schedule and most of the song concepts we've realized and shown to you all. now that it's all done and out in the world… well, we want some time to frolick and go soulsearching in the mountains and all that stuff bands are normally supposed to do! so we can come up with new plans and write new songs as good and heartfelt as the ones we've written before.

rice: might be hard… it will take a long time to gather enough energy to make something better than our best song ever made… that's right….. QUeen of Benus

rice: BUT DON'T WORRY WE ARE NOT FIGHTING!!!!!!! we all love each other very much (embarrassingly so) and we love the FLAVOR FOLEY project very much! and we love everything we've done so far!!!

and!! now that we're not focusing on new music, we have time to look at doing fun and interesting projects with the Existing FLAVOR FOLEY works!!! you can consider this more of a pivot in direction to focus more on developing the worlds and characters we've already put out!!!!!

Jamie: In fact there are maybe some plans on the horizon regarding activity outside of new original music we can't share quite yet- we've been actively talking about other ways we can explore the characters we've created and the songs we wrote for them!! in other words, you heard it here first - Yi Xi Is Not Dead. She Is Alive And At Large. If You Have Any Information On Her Whereabouts Please Inform Us. Or If You See Her Decked Out In Some New Cool Ass Swag………… …..

for one, our esteemed Vane Lily (hi vane ily) (its a joke because lily has ily in it and also i love you) (hi jamie it’s vane ily. vane ily loves you) has been very hard at work on their project To Hell And Back! if you're unfamiliar, it's an incredibly ambitious song series/concept album years in the making with some of the most gutwrenching storytelling i've ever seen in this space. having mixed and mastered the entire project, i can tell you right now it's an immaculate collection of songs and videos, and anyone fond of our heavier work or more classically-english-vocaloid music will adore it.

Jamie: i've got a considerably large solo project of my own on the horizon as well! i'm not quite ready to talk about it yet, but... surely you can keep a little secret, can't you? let's keep dreaming a little while longer. all in due time. as the days pass by. etc etc etc

the album art of "MIRROR MODULATION" has no dish, just ingredients and an empty platter. this is part of the "identity" theme– you are always reinventing and remaking yourself– but from a meta standpoint, it's also because we want you to take it (our work) and make something else out of it!

instead of asking when the next FLAVOR FOLEY song will be…. try making something yourself!!!!

we wrote soooo much in the FFF for "Clover" about taking pieces of us with you but We Meant That Shit. we don't want you to wait for us– we want you to make us excited to come back to a brand new scene!

Vane: like sometimes we get emails from fans that are like, "i have an idea for a flavor foley song!" and sometimes they get really detailed, like… concepts and singers and themes already pitched!

whenever we get those, i just think…. this is already YOUR song!! you don’t need us to make it!!

like... we were you at one point! we were just like you, we had ideas that we wanted to see made into songs too. and i probably did also send a few of those emails myself to creators, like, "i want to see this song made".... but!! making those songs real is why we create!!!! and we want you guys to create too!!!!!

Jamie: and now, if you'll permit us some melodrama;

Vane: I love these two fuckers with all of my heart, and I’m so incredibly proud of the work and love we’ve put into FLAVOR FOLEY over the last ~2 years. I don’t think it’d be an overstatement to say that working on this project has fundamentally changed my life for my better. being around these two genuinely brightens my day in a way that I cherish deeply, and I hold the art we’ve made together close to my heart.

rice: i feel like my feelings have remained largely the same since CARDIAC CONTREPOINT, they've just kind of gotten stronger… these 2 are the best things to happen to me ever and i'm constantly so blessed to have them in my life. the work we've done together is my greatest pride and joy and i'm the happiest i've ever been!!! thank you everyone so much!!!!

Jamie: we've watched something far greater than ourselves grow within all of you.

it's in every line of every drawing and painting and fanart; every note of every cover and remix and original song; every word of every fiction and post and lyric written. when we've gone on stage, we've felt the roar of it as you were screaming our own poetry back at us, and when we've met you all face to face, we've seen it shining in your eyes.

it is an incredible, beautiful thing, far beyond my ability to describe, and even just glimpsing it is enough to inspire unwavering faith in it, in all the love and life that just needed definition.

this is the Spark - your lucky little clover - and as long as you nurture it, it will be with you forever.

this is all a change, and quite a big one at that. change is scary.

but that's what being human means, right? you're never finished becoming who you want to be, because to become your truest self is to accept change as a constant.

when (not if - when) you hear a new song from flavor foley, we will be different people, and as a consequence, we will be a different kind of group. you'll be someone different, too.

we'll all be ourselves, though.
